From Survival to Justice Arlene Stone’s Journey
Arlene Stone’s journey began in a small town in Davao City, Philippines. Enduring childhood abuse from her own father and family, she sought refuge alongside her sister, Estrella, by joining a church that promised salvation and education. Tragically, both sisters, along with other church members, were trafficked and exploited for decades.
After leaving her role as a full-time church worker with only a 7th-grade education, Arlene married a local pilot from Minnesota. Their eight-year marriage brought two children, Jaylene and Nathan. During this time, Arlene reconnected with the very church that had once exploited her, only to later divorce her husband.
Determined to rebuild her life, Arlene earned her GED in 2017. She then attended a community college, securing double associate degrees in communication studies and business administration. Continuing her education, she achieved her bachelor’s degree with high distinction from Concordia University, Saint Paul. In May 2024, Arlene completed her graduate degrees from Southern New Hampshire University.
